Arjowiggins, at the cutting edge of eco-friendly paper

Deinking process at the Dalum Papir plant in Denmark

The paper manufacturer Arjowiggins is one of the first links in the graphic chain and as such plays an essential role in raising awareness about eco-responsible solutions amongst professionals in this industry. To accompany their customers in their sustainable development policies, the Graphic and Creative Paper divisions of Arjowiggins offer a wide range of recycled and FSC®* certified paper products. The Creative Paper division proposes Conqueror CarbonNeutral® in several European countries. Arjowiggins Graphic is the European leader in eco-responsible paper. It has the largest green offer in the market and uses the method of life cycle analysis to offer its customers clear and transparent information about the environmental impact of its products.
Since 2009, to raise customer awareness concerning responsible consumption, Arjowiggins Graphic has initiated a strategic partnership with the WWF in France, one of the aims being to promote the use of recycled and FSC® certified paper. Thanks to an online eco-calculator, end users can compare the impact of an Arjowiggins Graphic product and that of a product made of 100% virgin (non-recycled) paper (www.arjowigginsgraphic.com).

Antalis, ‘green’ responses to market needs

To respond to the needs of its different markets, Antalis offers its customers a full range of PEFC* or FSC** certified paper, especially under its own brand names.
To promote the purchase of these papers, Antalis organises local actions such as promotions or ‘green days’ in France. In Switzerland, an online calculator allows customers to evaluate and compare the environmental impact of products throughout their life cycle. In Great Britain, breakfasts are organised with customers to present the different certifications and a department of consultants can assist them in their certification approach. In Poland, Antalis is one of the creators of the first foundation for eco-responsible paper. Its goal is to raise awareness amongst the community of manufacturers, publishers, educators, the general public and the media regarding the environmental benefits of using environmentally-friendly paper.
