The responsibility of a leader
The paper manufacture sector is facing difficult environmental issues linked to global warming and the preservation of natural resources. As a major player in the paper industry, Sequana is committed to minimising its environmental impact.
Arjowiggins, a permanent search for efficiency
The search for a balance between economic constraints and the objective of minimising the impact of its activities leads Arjowiggins to constantly seek to improve its environmental efficiency. The company has established an Environmental Charter which defines its commitments to its staff and partners. This charter sets down the principles which guide all aspects of the company’s conduct from paper pulp supplies through to waste management and the conditions for selecting its partners.
Arjowiggins strives to master its environmental impact at all stages of the production cycle. To lessen its carbon imprint, Arjowiggins is working to reduce its consumption of fossil energy, by privileging renewable sources and constantly optimising the energy consumption of its sites. Preservation of water is also the object of systematic action plans in all the factories. Finally its waste, mainly sludge from water treatment plants, is recycled and reused in other channels.
The company is also committed to developing an environmental management system, through its certification policy for example:
Antalis, a guaranteed control chain
Even if its distribution activities have relatively little impact on the environment, Antalis plays an important role in the graphic chain to guarantee its customers the quality of its products and services. Respect for the environment is at the heart of this strategy and, at Antalis, this is symbolised by its ambitious certification policy. Effectively, certification ensures the traceability of the products at all stages of production and distribution, and this in all the countries in which the company operates.
